Second Assignment for Week One

 

 

The second assignment for this week involves discussing two specific case studies that raise key ethical questions:

• Torture the bombing suspect?
• attempted suicide
  

Please read the description of each case, and then post into the Case Studies folder in the classroom your responses to the questions they pose. In other words, tell us what you believe ought to be done in each case, and tell us what your reasons are for believing that.

The discussion of these two cases will take place simultaneously inside the Case Studies folder in the classroom.

These case study discussions can begin anytime on Saturday (i.e., even while we continue the “definitions” discussion through Saturday evening). The case study discussions will need to be completed by Tuesday at 10pm.

Footnote:
I hope you realize that the schedule for this first week is a bit irregular. Our weeks will continue to begin on Thursdays and end on Wednesdays, but the assignments will get much more regular by week three.
